HERSHEY, Pa. (June 15, 2005) – Hershey Area Playhouse raised $18,000 for its operating budget with its sixth-annual Cabaret Night, which was held April 16 at the Antique Auto Museum at Hershey.
Cabaret Night, which this year drew a record 225 people, showcases talented singers from Broadway and our own backyard.
Featured performers included singer and actress Amy Banks, a native of Minnesota who has called Lancaster home for the past three years. Banks is a host of Fox TV’s syndicated reality show, “Design Invasion.”
Other professional performers included Gwendolyn Lentz, Martha Traverse, and Katie Wieand. Local performers included many singers, cellist Todd Rubey and pianist Roger Levin.
Cabaret Night also featured a silent auction, live auction and themed gourmet food stations on each of the museum’s three levels.
The backdrop for Cabaret Night was the museum’s main exhibit, "From Sea to Shining Sea," featuring more than 85 antique cars, trucks, cycles and buses.
HAP’s next production, “Oliver,” runs July 13-16 at Hershey High School. Tickets are $15 for adults, $13 for children 12 and under and $13 for groups of 20 or more. Group reservations may be made by calling 533-8525. Individual tickets may be purchased at the door. For more information, please visit www.hersheyareaplayhouse.com.
