Hershey Area Playhouse Announces Auditions for Spring Awakening

HERSHEY, Pa., February 4, 2019 – Hershey Area Playhouse is holding auditions for their Dark Night production, Spring Awakening, Friday, February 22 & Saturday, February 23, 2019, at 6:00pm on the 22nd and 4:00pm on the 23rd. Callbacks will be held after a 30-minute break on Saturday, February 23rd.


Auditions will take place at the Playhouse, located at the corner of Sand Hill Road and Cherry Drive, Hershey. Those auditioning MUST be 18 years of age on the day of auditions for this show. Those auditioning will be asked to sing a minute’s worth of music in the style of the show or contemporary Broadway. No acapella; must either provide music for our pianist or have a digital music track.

Spring Awakening explores the journey from adolescence to adulthood with a poignancy and passion that is illuminating and unforgettable. This celebration of rebellion provides the perfect opportunity to feature performers of all types, as well as the creative flexibility with the use of costumes, set pieces and lighting. Featuring a pop rock score, this is an ideal show for talented vocalists with strong acting abilities. Join this group of late nineteenth century German students on their passage as the navigate teenage self-discovery and coming of age anxiety in a powerful celebration of youth and rebellion.
