Hershey Area Playhouse Announces Auditions for Children of Eden

HERSHEY, Pa., May 1, 2017 – Hershey Area Playhouse announces auditions for its summer musical, Children of Eden, on Saturday, May 20 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Callbacks, if necessary, will be held on Monday, May 22.

Written by John Caird with lyrics by Stephen Schwartz ("Pippin," "Godspell," and "Wicked"), Children of Eden is a soaring musical that features the Bible stories of Genesis, including the Garden of Eden, Cain and Abel, and Noah and the Great Flood.   

Roles for men, women and children (ages 6 and up) are available, including ensemble roles, which will be featured throughout the show playing an assortment of characters and other integral parts.

Those auditioning should come prepared with a 36-bar song selection. There will be an accompanist. Please bring sheet music or a pre-recorded karaoke track on a device that can play it in the audition room. It is requested that those auditioning do not sing a cappella.


Short scenes from the show will be provided and those auditioning might be asked to do a cold reading.  Auditions will also include learning and performing some choreography.

Auditions will take place in the Rose Room at Country Meadows, which is adjacent to the Playhouse, located at the corner of Sand Hill Road and Cherry Drive, Hershey. Use Country Meadow’s main entrance and take the stairway to the second floor. Note: Due to other activities on the property the day of auditions, please be aware that parking will be limited.  

Performances of Children of Eden will be held July 19-23 and 26-30, 2017 at the Playhouse.  Additional audition information is available on the Playhouse’s website,
