Hershey Area Playhouse Presents Frankenstein
Performance Dates: Oct. 6-9 and Oct. 13-16, 2016
HERSHEY, Pa., Sept. 22, 2016 – Just in time for Halloween, Hershey Area Playhouse is proud to present its fall show, the well-known and timeless horror classic, Frankenstein.
Written and directed by Marjorie Bicknell, and as reviewed in the Chicago Tribune, this award-winning adaptation of the celebrated novel by Mary Shelley “wisely concentrates on the philosophical and psychological questions that made the original novel so fascinating.”
Set in 1815 at Victor Frankenstein’s home in Switzerland, and at the North Pole, Frankenstein focuses on the relationship between Victor, the creator of a new life, and the Creature for whom he is responsible – a lost being without identity and companionship. While Victor is focused on creating a “new Adam,” a man who will change the human race, his experiment goes awry and tragedy results.
“This adult take on the classic horror tale goes back to its roots to find new meaning for the modern world,” said Bicknell. “The talented cast and crew supporting them have worked incredibly hard, and I can't wait for audiences to experience this production."
Bringing Frankenstein to life, cast members include: Steve Dincau as Robert Walton; Lamar Kukuk as Victor Frankenstein; Sam Hardy as The Creature; Same Eisenhuth as Henry Clerval; Eileen Daub as Justine Mortiz; Nancy Kraft as Madame Frankenstein; and Lindsay Brahl as Elizabeth Lavenza.
In addition to Bicknell, the production staff members for Frankenstein include: William O’Donnell, producer; Gale Sherrid and Erin Wentz, stage managers; and JoEllen Myers, costumer.
