Hershey Area Playhouse Announces Auditions for Company
HERSHEY, Pa., Oct. 18, 2016 – Hershey Area Playhouse announces auditions for the first production of its 2017 season, Stephen Sondheim’s Company on Sunday, Nov. 13 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Monday, Nov. 14 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Callbacks, if necessary, will be held the evening of Monday, Nov. 14.
Auditions will take place by appointment at the Playhouse, located at the corner of Sand Hill Road and Cherry Drive, Hershey. To schedule an audition, contact Michele Robertson, the show’s producer, at [email protected].
While scheduling an appointment is highly encouraged, walk-ins will be accepted both days. If you are unable to make the audition dates, but want to be considered for a role, please contact the show’s director, Joseph Chubb, at [email protected].
Roles for eight men and six women are available. Those auditioning are asked to come to auditions prepared with the following:
- Thirty two (32) bars of a song that best fits the style of the show and demonstrates their musicality and vocal range. An accompanist will be provided; please ensure your sheet music is already appropriately marked and easy to read with cuts made for the accompanist. Those wishing to use a CD or tape must bring their own CD or tape player as one will not be provided.
- Prepared, high-energy monologue no longer than a minute and a half.
- Acting resume and an 8 x 10 head shot, if available. Note: If you do not have an acting resume, a form will be available at auditions to provide information about previous acting experience.
- List of any known conflicts between Dec. 1, 2016 and Feb. 10, 2017.
