Hershey Area Playhouse Announces Upcoming Dark Night Series Production
Dr. Kevin Pry Presents Things That Go Bump in the Night
HERSHEY, Pa., Oct. 7, 2016 – Just in time for Halloween, Hershey Area Playhouse is proud to announce its fifth Dark Night Series production of the year, Things That Go Bump in the Night on Saturday, Oct. 22, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Dr. Kevin Pry, associate professor of English at Lebanon Valley College and well-known deliverer of spooky stories, returns to the Playhouse stage for the third installment of this production sure to get audiences in the Halloween spirit.
Featuring an evening filled with tales of creepiness and the macabre from authors, including Poe, Lovecraft, and even Shakespeare, Things That Go Bump in the Night will give audiences chills and thrills as Dr. Pry brings the tales to life with wit, humor, and compassion.
Join the Playhouse for a dark and hopefully not stormy night on Oct. 22. Tickets for Things That Go Bump in the Night are $15 and are available by visiting www.HersheyAreaPlayhouse.com or by calling the Playhouse's box office at 717-533-8525. Note: This production may not be appropriate for young children. PARENTAL DISCRETION: If your child does not like ghost stories, this is not an event for them.
The Playhouse adopted the term “Dark Night," a term used by theatres when there is not a performance scheduled, a few years ago as part of a vision to incorporate a wider variety of entertainment to complement its five mainstage shows. The Playhouse is relaunching its Dark Night Series in 2016, bringing additional entertainment options, including different, edgier content shows to its mainstage. It will also include musical acts, as well as original works, comedy acts, and special events.
