Hershey Area Playhouse Announces Auditions for a Weekend of One Acts

HERSHEY, Pa., May 24, 2016 – Hershey Area Playhouse is holding auditions for the second of its 2016 Dark Night Series productions, a Weekend of One Acts, written by local area playwrights, on Saturday, June 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Auditions will take place at the Playhouse, located at the corner of Sand Hill Road and Cherry Drive, Hershey. Roles for 22 females and 17 males, varying in ages from 18-70 are available. Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to audition.

Auditions will include readings from the scripts of the one act plays; those auditioning do not need to come with a prepared monologue. Roles will be assigned at the auditions with the opportunity to meet the directors of the one act plays. If agreeable, those auditioning may be assigned more than one role.

“This is a great opportunity for anyone who has thought about getting involved in theatre, but does not have a lot of time to commit,” said the Playhouse’s Dark Night Series committee member, Mark Cuddy. “If you’re new to theatre, but have always wanted to take on a role in a production, this is your chance to get in on the ground floor.”

The Weekend of One Acts performances will be held Aug. 12-13 at the Playhouse. For more information, visit the Playhouse’s website,
