HERSHEY, Pa., Sept. 3, 2015 – Hershey Area Playhouse is holding auditions for youth ages 8-18 for its upcoming production of the familiar classic, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Monday, Sept. 21 and Tuesday, Sept. 22 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Callbacks, if necessary, will be Wednesday, Sept. 23.
Auditions will take place at the Playhouse, located at the corner of Sand Hill Road and Cherry Drive, Hershey. Those auditioning are asked to prepare a monologue; younger children may recite a poem. There will be some group singing in the show, but preparation of a song is not necessary for auditions. It is possible that scripts from the show will be given to those auditioning to practice and then read. Children are encouraged to prepare for auditions by reading aloud scripts they have at home.
A Charlie Brown Christmas is the stage adaptation that mimics the beloved television show, where the familiar and loveable characters of Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus and Snoopy grapple with finding the true meaning of Christmas.
The show is being directed by theatre veteran Jill Panyard. Performances will be held Dec. 17-20 at the Playhouse.
Additional audition information, including specific details on available roles and an audition form, is available on the Playhouse’s website, www.HersheyAreaPlayhouse.com.
