HERSHEY, Pa., March 7, 2015 – Taught by instructors with experience in both theatre and education, Hershey Area Playhouse Theatre Academy announces its acting classes for students in grades K-12 in a six-week spring session. This year’s spring session begins on March 14, 2015 and runs through April 25, 2015.
In the Creative Kids session, students in grades K-3 will learn to tell stories with the camera and explore creative work through film while learning story structure through games and creative dramatics.
The Acting It Up session, for students grades 4-6, will explore creative self-expression through video. How does the camera focus the audience on the story? Students will explore story structure, shot angles and special effects as a creative element in storytelling.
In the Theatre Arts Studio 1 session, students in grades 7-12 will explore video and media arts, learning to use special effects, camera shots and the directed focus through the eye of the camera to turn improvised stories and scenarios into short films.
All classes will end in a mini-film festival. For more information and to download a registration form, visit www.HersheyAreaPlayhouse.com.
