Roles for three men and one woman are available. Those auditioning may come prepared with a short monologue, but scenes from the play will be provided for audition purposes. As actors will have to create several, unique characters, those auditioning will be asked to demonstrate a few character voices, such as a British accent.
Auditions will take place at the Playhouse, located at the corner of Sand Hill Road and Cherry Drive, Hershey. Callbacks, if needed, will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 4.
The 39 Steps is a fast-paced, comedic spoof of the classic 1935 Alfred Hitchcock film. Four actors portray more than 150 characters, sometimes changing roles faster than the blink of an eye, including right in front of the audience.
The show is being directed by theatre veteran Jennifer Feldser. Performances will be held Oct. 8-11 and Oct. 15-18 at the Playhouse.
